During August 2018 the number of medical assistances in the Transit Reception Centers (TRC) increased to 309 in comparison to 183 in July, making the total of 1,314 medical assistances for the period January – August 2018.

Medical teams in both Transit Reception Centers also provided assistance to 27 migrant children ensuring that they were provided with timely and professional medical care and therapy.

One of these cases was one month old baby from Iran. Upon arrival at the TRC Tabanovce and routine medical examination by the TRC medical doctor the baby was diagnosed with suspicions heart condition. Following quick intervention by the medical team he was transferred for pediatric check in Kumanovo General Hospital and upon confirmation of the diagnosis, the medical team transferred the baby with his mother to the Clinical Centar in Skopje where he got the needed therapy and medications, assuring improvement of his general medical condition.
