From September 2018 to October 2019, IOM provided education support for a total of 283 children at the Gevgelija Transit Reception Center. From them, 159 children attended pre-school education (0 to 5 years old) and 124 attended primary education (6 to 14 years old).

Every day starts with easy-morning gymnastics that helps the children to develop a routine of a healthy lifestyle. Children practice group imitation exercises and often have the opportunity to be the creator of several exercises and replace the role of the teacher.

The other subjects that are covered and included in the school curriculum are Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Society, English and Macedonian language, each subject that in its own way is relevant for the education of the child.

Children under 6 years of age attend preschool education, early childhood education classes with all aspects of child development – physical (health and motor development), cognitive (cognition and thinking) and social-emotional development learning approach.

The day always ends with an Art or Music education where children always have the space to be creative and express themselves freely, helping them to overcome any unpleasant experiences through Art Therapy if they had it during their journey.
